Sustainability is Norte’s core value. We are committed to reducing environmental impacts of construction and using natural resources in viable ways.
Together with clients, partners, and the construction sector, we contribute to the development of a healthier and cleaner society through a conscious sustainable way of thinking.
Sustainable Development Goals
We feel a great responsibility in designing a more sustainable world. We have assessed our biggest areas of environmental impact and focused on the four UN Sustainable Development Goals through which we can make the biggest positive impact:
Good health and well-being
Good mental and physical health of all team members is extremely important to us, and we are committed to raising awareness on these issues. We value an open and transparent management system and equality. Our company regularly offers our people various opportunities for recreational and sports activities. Every member of our team has the opportunity to use the employer’s health insurance, which covers, among other things, dental treatment and psychological consultations as well as various tests and vaccines. We value work-life balance and offer all employees flexibility in choosing the time and place of work to find the solution that works best for them. We involve employees in the company’s development by regularly asking them for feedback, which we consider when developing management plans.
Affordable and clean energy
As a design company, we contribute to the optimization and modernization of energy use of new buildings by considering all possible solutions already at the planning stage. We advise customers to choose the most reasonable renewable energy solutions and suggest ways to implement them in both new and existing buildings.
We have launched a long-term project in which we review industrial buildings and PVC halls built in the last 15 years and evaluate the possibilities of building solar parks on their roofs and facades.
Industry, innovation and infrastructure
We design a lot of industrial buildings and in cooperation with our customers and partners we use sustainable solutions and technologies to achieve the best results. While helping our clients achieve their goals, we also always keep in mind to use resources optimally to damage the environment as little as possible. We make sure that our architectural and constructive solutions are always well thought out. It is important to us that the building retains its value for the user for as long as possible, and that the selection of technical system solutions considers their impact on the building’s footprint throughout its life cycle.
Climate action
Our goal is to increase the awareness of customers, partners and members of our team about sustainable design solutions and their importance. We analyze every part of the building during the design process and constantly develop innovative solutions to reduce the building’s environmental impact. We keep ourselves up to date with the latest materials and technologies, as well as their potential uses and associated risks. To evaluate our solutions, we use both measuring the carbon footprint of buildings and looking at the entire building based on circular economy principles.
We believe it’s crucial to follow cradle-to-cradle principles while designing a building – from the beginning of the planning process it should be well thought out what are the possibilities for expanding the building or implementing new sustainable technologies in the future, and what will happen to the building at the end of its life.
